Telex Stratus 30 (STRATUS30)

Telex headset STRATUS 30
Along with 30 dB of total noise reduction, the Stratus 30 headset offers comfort, durability and performance at a very affordable price. Designed as an entry-level ANR headset, the Stratus 30 combines superior ANR protection, a noise-canceling electret microphone, and fully adjustable boom to ensure clear communications.

Noise Reduction
The Stratus 30 has passive noise reduction of greater than 29dB and active noise reduction (ANR) of up to 13dB.

Comfort and Fit
Dented slide adjustment on the headband allows the ear cup to be easily raised or lowered for proper fit. Yoke design allows the ear cup to pivot in two planes assuring proper seal to the head and distributing ear cushion pressure evenly over its entire surface. Ear cup pressure can be adjusted through use of the patented ComfortCam™.

Microphone
The amplified electret noise-cancelling microphone eliminates unwanted cabin noise from entering the communication system. The boom rotates up to allow it to be worn on either side of the head. Retaining hooks designed into the microphone housing securely hold the windscreen in place.

Cordage and Plugs
All cables are shielded to protect against RFI. Strain relief is added to all cord entry points to provide protection from tugging. Bend relief is added at high-flex cord entry points to protect cords from breakage due to bending. Separate receiver and microphone plugs for plugging into the aircraft radio/intercom system are included. Cables with plugs for use with cell phones, cd players, and mp3 players are also included.

Auto Shut-Off
The headset will shut off automatically after 15 minutes in low-noise environments. When Auto Shut-Off is enabled, things that keep the headset on are communication over the aircraft radio/intercom system, cell phone conversations, listening to music, and cabin noise greater than 90dB.

Battery/User Interface Module
The module puts most commonly used controls at the pilot's fingertips. There is a cell phone jack to connect the phone and headset. An auxiliary input jack allows for listening to cd and mp3 players through the headset. The power on/off button will turn on and off all functions to and from the headset except for to and from the radio/intercom system. The accessory mute button quickly and completely disables the cell phone and auxiliary audio devices while maintaining radio/intercom communication. The LED indicates which functions are in use as well as low battery. The batteries are recharged through the DC input jack.

The Echelon 25XT packs additional comfort and performance features onto the solid Echelon platform. The 25XT includes Telex’s innovative cell phone/MP3 adapter that allows you to attach both your cell phone and MP3 player at the same time. No more switching cords! Need to communicate? Simply mute them both at a touch of a button. For increased comfort, the Echelon 25XT features a plush, thick foam headband pad and newly designed, more comfortable ear cushions. The Echelon 25XT also offers individual volume controls for each ear cup and a stereo/mono select switch.

      Noise Reduction
The Stratus 50-D provides up to 20+dB patented digital tonal noise reduction of engine and blade noise, up to 15+dB of analog broadband noise reduction, and 29+dB of passive noise reduction. At 90Hz the cumulative total is 50+dB of noise reduction.

      Comfort and Fit
The headband design distributes ear cushion pressure evenly with no pressure points. A dented slide adjustment on the headband allows the ear cup to be easily raised or lowered for proper fit. All cables are shielded to protect against RFI and EMF. Strain relief is added to the cords and plugs to provide protection from wear and tear. The headset includes separate receiver and microphone plugs. The receiver plug is set up for stereo usage, but a switch on the cordage controls stereo/mono operation. A separate power cord is provided to allow aircraft power (via cigarette lighter adapter) to plug into the battery module on the headset cord. This will accommodate aircraft power from 8-32Vdc. Two cords for connecting cell phones and audio devices are included.

      Auto Shut-Off
The Stratus 50-D contains noise-sensing features which measure ambient noise levels. When these levels are low for 5-7 minutes, the headset automatically shuts off. This feature prolongs battery life and discharge of batteries if the headset is accidentally left on.

      Cell Phone/Audio Interface
The Stratus 50-D includes a unique amplified interface allowing for the connection of a cell phone and audio device simultaneously. This setup allows for all the equipment to be set up before take-off rather than during flight. The interface obtains power from the aircraft's communication system

        The Airman 750
The Airman 750 weighs under four ounces, but it's no lightweight when it comes to performance. A miniature, amplified noise canceling electret mic provides superior 400 Hz hum rejection. Flexible boom pivots to either side of the head. Stainless steel headband has overhead cord, and dual dynamic receivers include replaceable cushions that gently hug each ear. The Airman 750 is approved for aircraft use under Federal Aviation Agency TSO C57a and C58a; the Airman 76O, under TSO C57a.

        Headphones
Both units feature open-air style earphones for long-term, fatigue-free usage. The earphone housings are mounted on stainless steel sliders which permit over two inches (51 mm) of fitting adjustment. The ear cushions are removable for easy field replacement.

        Microphone
The Airman 750 Headset features a miniature, amplified, noise-canceling electret microphone that provides superior 400 Hz hum rejection. The microphone boom is flexible for optimum microphone placement, and it is reversible for wearing on either side of the head. For best results, the microphone should be positioned as close to the mouth as possible. A position at one side of the mouth is best to minimize popping, hissing and breathing sounds when speaking. The microphone amplifier is contained in the boom-side earphone housing. The amplifier has an adjustable gain control and provides output levels equivalent to carbon microphone levels. (Adjustment by a qualified avionics technician is recommended.)

        Features:
Weight: 4 oz. (115 g) Connectors: Standard dual plugs (PJ-55 / PJ-068). Also available as an Telex 750 for Airbus with XLR5 connector.
